Continuous Improvement of Quality Control System for Resin Raw Materials

As core raw materials for coatings and inks, polymer resins’ batch stability directly affects downstream yield, so full-process quality control systems are improved continuously. Inspection starts from raw material warehousing. Purity and moisture of monomers, polyols and acids are tested, and unqualified materials are rejected. Temperature, viscosity and acid value are monitored online during reaction to track polymerization progress. Finished products are sampled to test solid content, viscosity and storage stability. Special test items are set for different resins. Amine value is tested for epoxy curing agents; gel time for unsaturated polyester resin; weather resistance and drying performance for acrylic and alkyd resin. Test data are archived for downstream traceability. In application, stable resins reduce formula fluctuation of coatings and inks and lower risks of floating, loss of gloss and abnormal curing. Raw material training helps formulators understand indicators and select materials properly. Upgraded testing equipment strengthens online monitoring and detects production abnormalities earlier. Improved quality control guarantees resin quality and supports stable production of coatings and inks.
