Epoxy Curing Agent Empowers Resin Crosslinking and Forming

Epoxy curing agent is an indispensable supporting material for epoxy systems and determines the final curing performance of epoxy coatings and inks. Curing agents of different chemical types have varied reaction mechanisms. Purification and modification in production adjust reactivity for room-temperature curing or high-temperature baking. Purity is strictly controlled, since impurities reduce crosslink density and impair chemical resistance and adhesion of paint films. In application, epoxy coatings are widely adopted for heavy-duty anti-corrosion. Mixed with epoxy resin in proportion, curing agents trigger crosslinking to form dense films resisting acid, alkali and moisture. Modified curing agents are adopted in special inks to enhance solvent resistance of printed layers. Industrial knowledge popularization highlights mixing ratio, maturation time and construction temperature to avoid defects such as brittleness and tackiness. Low-toxic and low-irritating modified epoxy curing agents are developed to reduce health risks for constructors. Standards add tests on chemical resistance and aging performance of cured substances. Growing demand for heavy anti-corrosion and floor coatings drives R&D toward low viscosity and high compatibility, enabling construction under low temperature and promoting epoxy coatings in more industrial fields.
